Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-11This policy covers the Form Analyzer Android app and the form-analyzer website. In short: the app has no account system and no server. Your workout data stays on your phone; the only thing ever sent off it automatically is a small technical error report if the app crashes (see "Data sharing" below).
The camera
Form Analyzer needs camera access to see how you are moving. Camera frames are analysed on your device, in memory, by Google ML Kit's on-device pose detection, and are discarded immediately afterwards.
No photo or video is ever recorded, saved to your device, or transmitted anywhere. Pose detection runs entirely on your phone, using models bundled with the app.
What the app stores
The app saves your workout history on your device only: exercise type, rep counts, hold durations, timestamps, form scores, and short text notes about form (for example "Rounded Back"). It does not collect your name, email address, date of birth, location, contacts, or any account identifier, because it has no accounts.
Data sharing
There is no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK in the app, and we operate no server of our own. If the app hits an unexpected error, a crash report is sent automatically so we can fix it: the error message and a short technical log (timestamp and a truncated stack trace) go to a form we control. This never includes your workout data, device identifiers, or anything else that identifies you. The same information is also kept on your device, and you can review or share it yourself anytime from Profile → Report a Problem.
The app uses Google's ML Kit library for pose detection. The detection itself happens entirely on your phone, but the library does contact Google's servers on its own: on first launch it registers a randomly generated installation identifier and downloads its own configuration. That identifier is not linked to you, and no workout data, camera imagery, or personal information is included. This is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. The app also uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine to speak coaching cues, which on some devices is a Google component subject to the same policy.
Backups you control
Android's built-in backup may copy the app's saved data to your own Google account, under Google's terms and your device's backup settings. You can also export your history to a JSON file yourself from Profile → Back Up My Data, and choose where that file goes. Those files are yours; we never receive them.
Retention and deletion
Your workout data stays until you delete it. You can clear it from within the app, and uninstalling the app removes all of it from your device. Because we never receive it, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no request you need to send us.
Children
Form Analyzer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children — because the app collects no personal information at all.
Website and waitlist
The website is separate from the app. If you submit the waitlist form, your email address is collected so we can contact you about the app, and is processed by Formspree — see Formspree's privacy policy. We do not sell or share it. To have it removed, email the address below.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above will be updated and the revised policy published here.
